Best deal in Punta Arenas
This was the best value in Punta Arenas. Cheap, clean, and new; it had everything needed. The living space and bedroom was bigger than many Chilean apartments. We did not use the kitchen since we were only there one day. We arrived around 2am by taxi, and it was a little hard to find in the dark because there isn’t any kind of driveway or sign. We rang the bell by the iron gate, and the kind owner appeared and showed us to the apartment. He was very eager to ensure that our stay was satisfactory and made a point of letting us know he was on site if any problems should arrive. We ended up changing plans and checking out a day early and the owner was concerned that we did not like our stay, but we assured him that was not the reason we were leaving. The beds were fairly comfortable, and the wall heaters were brand new, in every room, and worked very well. The shower water was hot. The bathroom had a window for ventilation.
The apartment is a little farther away from the center of town, but walkable. Maybe….15 minutes. There's no sign in front, so we weren't sure this was the place. We were hesitant to ring the bell by the gate at 2am and possibly wake up the wrong people. I had notified them of the arrival time in advance, and texted that we had arrived (through WhatsApp), but did not receive a response, so we rang the bell, and after a few minutes, someone appeared to let us in. Parking is limited to a few spaces inside or outside the gate, but it didn’t seem to be much of an issue. The shower water pressure could have been better, and the enclosure was tiny; I hit my elbow on the wall a few times. The WiFi was a little slow. The owner only speaks Spanish, so if you don’t, use your translator app. He applied the 19% Chile sales tax, and none of the other places we stayed did this. I asked about it a few weeks before we arrived and he said everyone – Chileans and foreigners – had to pay the tax, but that isn’t true. Everywhere else we stayed, we showed our passports and PDI immigration receipt and the tax was waived. Even with the tax, It was STILL the cheapest deal in town, so I guess it’s not a big deal.

it's just like your own home.
it's just like your own home. you got your owner router, so wifi is strong. basic cooking equipment, inc. refrigerator. free tea and coffee. walking distance to downtown and close to supermarket. although owner doesn't speak english, with the help of google translator, owner is trying their best to help.
shower stall is a bit small and drain very slow, so we have to watch and make sure water doesn't overflow.

The host was on site,he showed us round the property which was spotless and very well kitted out,best shower of our trip ,and comfortable beds We went to fish market and self catered,the kitchen was well equipped which was better than most
